Business Garden Rīga wins 1st prize in the “Latvian Construction Annual Awards 2019”
On March 10th, the ceremony of the “Latvijas Būvniecība (Latvian Construction) Annual Awards 2019” was held in the Ziemeļblāzma Culture Palace, honouring the year’s most outstanding construction projects. This year, 162 entries were submitted to the competition in 10 nominations. The buildings of the first phase of the Business Garden Rīga office campus by Vastint Latvia received the highest acclaim from industry professionals — winning 1st place in the “New public building” category, sharing this place with the Akropole multifunctional centre.
“We are delighted that the effort we have put into creating Business Garden Rīga — from the carefully selected solutions and materials to the smooth cooperation between everyone involved in the process — has received the highest recognition from industry experts,” comments Liga Daniļeviča, Marketing Manager at Vastint Latvia. “In addition to the LEED Platinum certification that the first-phase buildings of Business Garden Rīga received at the beginning of 2020, this is another remarkable testimony to the high quality, sustainability and energy efficiency of the office campus. The experience of the first tenants proves that all this not only provides a comfortable and health-friendly environment for the employees, but also allows operational costs to be substantially reduced.”
Business Garden Rīga, located on Malduguņu street 1 and 2, is based on a concept by its developer Vastint that they have already successfully implemented in several other European cities. All Business Garden projects are distinguished by their convenient location close to an airport and city centre, as well as by the human-friendly proportions of the buildings, providing optimal daylight and creating a comfortable environment for employees. In the middle of the campus, an attractively landscaped 1.7-hectare large garden is situated with historic trees, sports grounds and recreation areas.
Business Garden Rīga is being developed in three phases, inspiring its tenants to grow along with the campus. During the first phase, two office buildings with more than 14,000 m2 of leasable space were completed. 200 bicycle stands, 109 underground and 504 aboveground parking spaces with CityBee and CarGuru carsharing zones have been installed. The Patnis private nursery has opened its doors in one of the buildings, talks are in progress with a lunch restaurant operator, and the Visma IT company has moved into the premises. The Business Garden Rīga office campus will offer altogether more than 70,000 m2 of modern and comfortable office space and a wide range of amenities for employees.
“Latvijas Būvniecība (Latvian Construction) Annual Awards” is a prestigious competition organized by the Building Design and Construction Council, honouring outstanding building projects in 10 categories. In 2018, the first-phase buildings of the Vastint Latvia project Magdelēnas kvartāls won first prize of “Latvijas Būvniecība (Latvian Construction) Annual Awards 2018” in the category “New Residential Building”.
